Child & Family Therapist

The STGH Child and Family Therapist provides in-depth clinical assessment and treatment of children and families enrolled in our Specialized Therapeutic Group Home (STGH) program. The STGH Child and Family Therapist conducts individual, group, and family therapy sessions, monitors progress on treatment plan goals, and provides general oversight of the implementation of the treatment plan goals.

What You Need

  • Master’s Degree in Human Services or related field and two years’ experience in social work, counseling or related areas preferred; or any combination of training, education and experience which would provide the required knowledge, abilities and skills to successfully perform in this role.
  • Active Florida LCSW, LMHC or LMFT or license eligible and pursuing completion of licensure, preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience working with children with history of complex trauma, mental health, and behavioral disorders.
  • Be familiar with DSM5, ICD10 assessment and diagnosis.
  • Certification as CFARS assessor, preferred.
  • Ability to maintain sensitivity to our target population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform psychosocial assessment upon assignment of case.
  • Provides treatment planning and oversight for the behavioral health programming associated with implementing those treatment plans on assigned caseload.
  • Provides individual, group, and family therapy to the youth and their families.
  • Maintains case records for each youth in your care.
  • Completes discharge summary at the youth’s discharge from their program.
  • Administers the youth’s Functional Assessment Rating Scale (Florida Version) on all children in assigned caseload and other applicable assessments deemed necessary.
  • Attends psychiatric appointments for the youth in your care.
  • Attend court hearings, judicial reviews, or other legal meetings as necessary or required.
  • Participates in guardian Ad Litem and or case manager meetings/staffings as needed.
  • Arranges home visits for the youth.
  • Works as the liaison between Residing Hope and the youth’s family.
  • Coordinates community resources as needed by individual youth.
  • Attends and participates in changeover meetings.
  • Responsive to staff and residents when there is a need for crisis counseling.
  • Meets regularly and as needed with direct reports to adequately lead the planning, implementing and evaluating of the services, systems and structure in the assigned cottage program.
  • Remains current and fluent regarding agency personnel policies and practices and manages within these policies.
  • Serves as an on-call clinician for assigned residents.
  • Provides crisis intervention to residents on an on-call after hour’s rotation.
  • Attends clinical supervision with direct supervisor.
  • Attends Clinical Department meetings for therapeutic development sessions.
  • Ensures participation in team decisions.
  • Perform all other job duties and responsibilities, as assigned.

This is a Full Time, Salaried, Exempt position.
